Trendy and traditional, organic and outrageous – green is nature’s neutral! Green has everything you could ask for in a hue, from fresh mints to deep forests, making this the must- have color of 2022. It is one of the most versatile colors on the spectrum when paired with new and fun colors on the color wheel, with so many variations. Green isn’t just pretty – it’s also powerful! Green can elicit feelings of relaxation or bring a room alive, from one side of the spectrum to the opposite. Emotions are brought to life by choosing the right shade of green for the right feeling that the client wants to express.
In this project, the customer talked about incorporating his favorites in the home design to include the color green. He indicated that he wanted everything and anything sports-related, with accents reminding him of his favorite state, Montana. My design goal was to incorporate all his likes through a more modern, masculine, and timeless design. We started with an original design for the entertainment center of all entertainment centers, equipped with five (yes, FIVE) TVs spanning 12 feet across and with a full-size sports announcement ticker expanding above. We built cabinets below for ultimate storage, backed the media cen- ter with vertical wood detail, and finished this room’s statement piece with an excellent LED backlight.
In the entrance, we installed a 20-foot-tall wainscot wall expand- ing floor to ceiling. I chose a rich emerald green to accent the overall home’s design. Elevation Avenue took this ordinary home by combining the customer’s want list with sophistication,
masculine woodwork, and accents of green. It made it into a home that encompassed all we set out to design.
In the home’s center, we modernized the existing staircase with black iron rods and whitewashed railings, leading to a new custom-designed wainscotted wall expanding from the stairs into the formal dining room. From a look above, you see light-colored accents mixed with green hues and a round matte black table, finishing off with soft-col- or linen chairs atop a multi-colored round rug. A balance of hues and texture brings light to this home’s gathering place. The neutral color palette makes it easy to add other colors, textures, and holiday decorations in one location without taking away from the tone and mood of the room.
